Continuous Project Grant Call

Adventurous Ideas Oy supports non-profit initiatives that promote animal rights and nature conservation in Finland. Applications for project grants are submitted through our electronic grant platform.

Applications related to both animal rights and nature conservation are submitted via the same form. The form asks for basic applicant details, a project description, planned actions and objectives, monitoring methods, a funding plan, and a detailed budget. Instructions for required attachments are provided within the system, and the full structure of the form can be viewed on the platform.

The Adventurous Ideas Oy project grant call is open on a rolling basis. The application period began on 13 August 2025. Project evaluations are conducted four times per year, with decisions published at the end of 2025 and in February, May, August, and December 2026. Supported projects may be new, ongoing, or continuation projects. Funded activities may begin no earlier than four months after the application is submitted.

Please note that all applications and attachments must be submitted via the grant system. Applications sent through other channels will not be considered.

Questions about the application can be sent to the giving back team through the grant system. Technical issues should be directed to technical support.

Project Grant Criteria

Project grants are available to non-profit organisations with a valid Finnish Business ID (Y-tunnus) that have been operating for at least one year. Grants are directed at organisations registered in Finland.

Funding is awarded to projects that promote animal rights and/or nature conservation in Finland. More detailed information on focus areas can be found in the Focus Areas section. Grants are not awarded for scientific, artistic, or cultural work, nor for projects outside Finland. General operational grants are not provided through this call.

The maximum project duration is two years. Applications may be submitted for new, ongoing, or continuation projects. Grants may be paid no earlier than four months after the application is submitted.

The amount awarded per project ranges from €1,000 to €50,000. Overhead costs may account for no more than 20% of the total budget. A self-financing share is not required; however, if the project includes self-financing or other external funding, this must be clearly stated.

Collaborative projects with for-profit entities or other ineligible actors are allowed, but funding may only be used to cover the eligible organisation’s own costs. Grants cannot be used to cover the costs of partners who do not meet the eligibility requirements.

Project Grant Evaluation Criteria

Project proposals are assessed by the giving back team at Adventurous Ideas Oy and by appointed experts involved in project evaluation.

Applications are evaluated based on the following criteria, depending on the project’s nature:

Applicant Expertise and Project Feasibility

We assess the applicant’s experience and expertise. Previous accomplishments strengthen an application, but new or less established actors may also receive funding. In such cases, other evaluation criteria carry more weight. We pay particular attention to the coherence of goals, actions, and timeline, as well as the efficient use of resources.

Project Relevance and Impact

We assess how effectively the project advances animal rights or nature conservation relative to its scale. Long-term impact and the ability to reach the intended audience are important considerations.

Alignment with Adventurous Ideas’ Giving Back Strategy

We evaluate how well the project aligns with the focus areas and strategic goals of Adventurous Ideas Oy’s giving back activities. We also consider the project’s level of innovation and its potential to generate new impactful solutions.
